    I've always had a desire to revel in sports and activities. Staying active, maintaining a high level of circulation, keeping a disciplined eating plan, stretching, listening to and caring for my body became a must rather than a given.

  • I trained at Taekwondo to stay flexible, keep both sides of my body symmetrical and maintain my range of motion. 
  • I trained at Boxing for rhythm, coordination and the cardiovascular fitness of my heart and lungs.
  • I chose those two sports because of their core focus, emphasis upon spinal stability and mental discipline.
  • I continued resistance/weight training to raise/maintain my lean muscle mass and increase/maintain my metabolism.
    In my early 30's I was faced with the prospect of wasting my life chasing an impossible dream. I began to wonder what else my experiences and knowledge could be good for, and so it was Australia day quite some years ago now that I arrived in Sydney for what I thought was just a holiday in the sun, on Maroubra beach.

   
   
    Within a week I met Rob Derbyshire the owner of Upclose & Personal Training. Rob's experience in fitness, nutrition and recovery was invaluable.
    I became a personal trainer because this allowed me to make something positive out of a past full of motivation for myself and those around me. Using those words as a personal trainer allows me to play my part in raising the well being of the community I now live in.

    Completing the Australian Graduate School of Health and Sports Sciences' Integrated Corrective Exercise Certificates. I branched out into post care rehabilitation of Chiropractic and Physiotherapy patients.

    Workshops run by other corrective postural and injury rehabilitation specialists like Paul Chek practitioners gave me further insight into, the sacroiliac joint, pelvis, lumbar, thoracic and cervical spines stabilization, muscle energy techniques and advanced Swiss Ball exercises.

    I’m a great listener and enjoy communicating, I remain on good terms with those I meet or spend time with.

    Health and fitness is a serious focus in mine and my families life.

    My grandfather Bobby Teasdale was the undefeated amateur flyweight boxing champion of all of Scotland, Wales and half of England when he departed for Australia in 1952.

    My sister Catherine studied Human Movement Science and has been a personal trainer in Melbourne since 1993, she has since given me great insights into health & fitness.
