Over the years, I’ve tried diets, gyms, motivational videos and tapes, walking with friends, even groups with fat-shaking machines – you name it!
I’ve been training regularly with Matt now for well over a year – and that’s definitely the longest I’ve consistently exercised – ever!
The sessions in the park with Matt are easy-going, fun and always informative. There are no issues of self-image, age or weight, and you always feel encouraged.
Gym-type exercise has never appealed to me, but boxing is great fun – you really think about the moves and feel like you’re achieving something mentally as well!
Matt has a passion for physical fitness and this is clear in the knowledge he conveys to you in relation to your individual situation.
What’s interesting to me (and amazing to my friends) is that I now miss doing the exercise if I don’t do it regularly. The morning workout starts my day on a high note and people at work tend to know whether or not I’ve trained that morning!
My stamina and fitness have increased and I notice this in simple things – playing with the dog, running around with my daughter or friends’ kids, cleaning the house, walking up steps or even doing gardening chores!
I’d encourage you to ring Matt – talk about what you want to achieve – I’m sure he’ll suggest a program that will suit you.

"…no problem"
I’m a shift worker, and we are well known for eating badly, working horrible hours, and letting our bodies go. But when I moved to Sydney more than three years ago I resolved to try to change at least one of these habits.
I first saw Matt training a group on the beach and straight away I knew he’d be a help. The first thing I told Matt was that I really didn’t like training in gyms…no problem. Matt’s sessions are run mostly outdoors in the fresh air.
I told him my work hours were horrible and I worked all over the place…no problem. Matt has groups early mornings and evenings most days.
I told him I didn’t DO too early a morning…no problem. Matt will (and has) gone out of his way to accommodate.
I’ve been with Matt now for three years. I’ve seen lasting improvements in my fitness, and my energy levels, and while I still don’t DO too early a morning, I DO enjoy starting the day with Matt’s humour, his encouragement, and his dedication to his clients. Plus training on a stunning beach as the sun comes up, then a dip in the ocean, isn’t too bad a way to start the day.

I’ve
been involved in sport and exercise for many years. Soccer, squash and aerobics
to name a few. During this time I’ve had numerous injuries (mostly knee and
calf problems).
Always
searching for better ways to increase my cardio fitness, strength and stamina in ways that won’t wreck my body and allow me to still walk ok when I’m 50!
I was very glad to meet Matt.
I wasn't really looking for a Personal Trainer at the time, Matt encouraged me to do a
fitness test and a couple of sessions with him to further understand the
options he could provide.
I’ve
not looked back since and have continued training with him for the last year
now. Matt
gives 150% when working with you, my body fat percentage has reduced by 12%.
Matt
is very knowledgeable in all areas of exercise and health, always letting me
know about healthy eating tips and anything
else he feels will improve my fitness.
I
love the boxing that we incorporate into my workouts as I love the cardio and
strength components of it. Matt brings experience to this area, in times before
I’ve only been encouraged to hit the pads as hard as I can without much
technique at all.
Now
I can confidently say that I have learnt the basics of boxing and how it’s done
correctly.
Our
workouts have changed my body shape incredibly, we work out on Coogee beach or in the gym, in the sun, by the surf, or at Titan Fitness overlooking the green Coogee turf.

I’m on the verge of creating yet another milestone
in my life. I’m about to join the select sixties and over club.
I’ve been a frequent user of gyms for about
three years now
After a few sessions with Matt he’d taught me a
better way to achieve results. He also took the time to explain how he designed
my work-outs to suit my requirements.
I’ve been with Matt for approx five months now and
I’ve seen and felt a huge improvement, not only in my looks and health, but also
socially.

"it’s good for your co-ordination and rhythm and things."
In the school holidays I did boxing with Matt in the park. My Mum does
boxing with him and it was fun and interesting because it’s a different
kind of exercise. I think it’s good for your co-ordination and rhythm
and things.
Matt taught me a lot about fitness and he was very patient when I tried new exercises.
I’d like to do it again in the next holidays.

"I didn't think I really needed a pt"
Before I started working with Matt I didn't think I really needed a pt. lm a chef and photographer who works long hours, I think I eat quite well. That combined with being on my feet all day I didn't imagine training with a Pt could be important for me. The one thing that bugged me however was my bad posture caused by my job.
After meeting Matt at Coogee beach one day I did a free initial consultation with him so I could give one of his sessions a go. During that first session Matt explained how he'd like to work on some of my postural issues.
He put together a sequence of exercises designed to strengthen my core and lower back so I could obtain better posture.
After some outdoor sessions I joined the gym Matt also works out of, he designed a gym program that l was comfortable with, he is always happy to share information with me to help with my training.
A year down the track I feel a lot better with much more energetic, my posture has improved a great deal. From someone that didn't want to train or wasn't aware of the benefits that it would provide. I can still be pretty lazy at times, but Matt is always giving positive energy and tips to keep me on track.
